    About Accord

Accord Precision is an innovative and flexible precision engineering business producing both high-value, complex and technologically advanced machined metal components, and high volume parts.

We provide a complete end-to-end solution for a new product development; from concept, functionality, consultation and design, quality control and traceability requirements to fully machined, assembled and packaged product meeting customer specifications and criteria. We are part of a “virtual R & D” department or team.

Innovation, flexibility and efficiency is achieved by:

    1. Retaining a skilled work force and on-going training. We pay top dollar for top guys as it uplifts everyone’s skills.
    2. Private ownership and a single site facility gives us flexibility and speed in decision making. This enables a quick response to our customers’ needs.
    3. Continuing to re-invest in the latest and most efficient machinery and CAD to machine integration. In this ever changing world a business must keep up or slowly die.

The business supplies a large variety of components throughout Australasia, USA, Europe and Asia to many well-known international companies.

Accord is committed to excellent workplace health and safety management practice and the managing of environmental issues.

    About the Team

We are a bunch of passionate engineers who love making parts in all materials, using the best machinery available. We start with a careful and accurate quoting process which takes into account the volume, size, tooling, tolerance, packing and delivery requirements.

The drawing office boys (using Solid Works) make sure the drawing is clear enough for the shop floor boys to work to. Even drawing it in 3D if that is needed. The part is then set in our MRP system so our guys know how to make the part and you can get the part delivered on time.

Quality Assurance Guys keep an eye on the manufacturing process, starting with a 1st off check, using their CMM (co ordinate measuring machine), shadow graphs, SPC shop floor system (Statistical Process Control), making sure that we stick to the ISO 9001/2000 quality standard and ISO 1400 1:2000

    Quality Assurance

Certified to ISO 9001 Quality Management System since March 1993 and more recently to ISO 9001:2000

Certified to ISO 14001:2000 Environmental Management System since March 2001.

    FDA registered

    ISO13485 certification.

    Statistical Process Control (SPC)

Production of precision componentry requires consistency and effective quality control. Accord has adopted these principles as part of its business philosophy. As well as the standard precision componentry tests done by all shops Accord uses SPC with regular measurement of selected characteristics and tolerances that give a reliable indication of how the overall process is performing.

Measurements are entered directly, on the production floor, into the SPC system using digital measuring instruments and the data displayed onto real time control charts. Any variations in the process are noted and corrective action taken before the process can go out of control and inferior components are produced. The SPC data is maintained on the computer and an SPC report on the production run is printed and sent with the goods, if the customer so requests.

Part of quality is delivery in full and on time – which is measured to ensure a reliable service is offered for our customer’s needs and has enabled them to use a “Just in Time” stock control system and dispense with or use minimal inwards goods inspection.

Accord fosters long term, trusting relationships with both customers and suppliers and this has led to a mutual understanding of the business needs of all parties involved in producing a cost effective quality part.

Machine tolerances and capabilities are areas continually under scrutiny in order to ensure that only products of the highest quality are produced.

Traceability is a major concern to most businesses these days, and to this end our software, batch control, standard operating procedures and processes will guarantee that we are fully able to support our customers in this most critical area.

  • What We've Got

    Design

Consultation with our Engineering team will result in drawings and/or models being produced to facilitate the manufacture of the product. It is part of the totally professional approach to service which sets Accord apart from others.

Any drawing revisions are stored and a software check for the latest revision, when entering your order, eliminates potential error.

The Engineers use the latest CAD and CAM software. This enables customer’s CAD drawings to be imported, or a new drawing created quickly. Gibbscam machining software is fully integrated to all CNC machine posts. This enables machine cutting code to be transferred to the relevant machine ready to start cutting metal.

This advancement helps get new products made quickly and accurately.

    Tooling

Tooling is designed on CAD, and the required CNC programs produced in house.

We have our own toolroom to produce tooling and jigs/fixtures – to reduce communication time and error, and allow small modifications to be done instantly.
